ONE: Focus Beats Busy ("ONE", "the app", "we", "us")
Effective date: October 17, 2026
ONE helps you empty your head, choose one priority for the day, and focus on it. We built it to work without an account and to keep your information on your phone wherever we can. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, who processes it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
The app is published by Rodrigo Maynard, London, United Kingdom (the "Publisher"). For any privacy question, write to rodsappz@gmail.com.
2. No account, no sign-in
ONE does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your email address, phone number, or password. We do not use advertising, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
3. Information that stays on your device
The following is stored locally on your phone and is not sent to us:
- Your first name (optional), your onboarding answers, and your settings (focus length, theme, reminder times).
- The thoughts and tasks you write or dictate, your daily ONE and its First Step, your completed ONEs, focus time, and streak.
- A randomly generated anonymous identifier for this installation (see section 4).
Because this data lives on your device, deleting the app or using Settings → Clear all data removes it. We cannot recover it for you, and it is not backed up by us.
4. Information sent to our servers
Some features use artificial intelligence. When you use them, the information below is sent over an encrypted connection to a small backend we operate on Supabase (hosted in São Paulo, Brazil), which forwards the request to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI models, and returns the result.
| Feature | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Ask ONE (AI coach) | Your messages in the conversation, plus context that helps the coach answer: your current ONE and First Step, the tasks in your list, whether today's ONE is done, your streak, your focus length, the struggles and best focus time you chose during onboarding, your local time, and the state of your timer. |
| Voice or typed thoughts → tidy list | The text of what you dictated or typed in Clear Your Mind (the transcript, not the audio). |
| Choosing your ONE | The list of your thoughts/tasks. |
| All AI features | An anonymous installation identifier, used only to count how many AI requests an installation makes per day so we can apply fair-use limits and prevent abuse. |
We do not store the content of your AI requests or responses on our servers. We keep only daily usage counters linked to the anonymous identifier. Anthropic processes the content to generate a response; under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default, and it may be retained for a limited period for safety and abuse prevention. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Your permission before any AI request
The first time you use an AI feature, the app shows a screen that tells you what is sent and who receives it, and asks for your permission. Nothing is sent to the AI service until you tap Allow and continue. If you tap Not now, the app keeps working without AI (for example, thoughts are split locally and the coach shows a notice). You will be asked again the next time you try an AI feature. Clearing all data in Settings also resets your choice.
What we collect, how, and why
- What: the text of your messages to the coach, the tasks you enter or dictate (as text), your current ONE and First Step, whether today's ONE is done, your streak and focus length, your timer state, the struggles and best focus time you chose in onboarding, your local time, and an anonymous installation identifier. We never collect your name, email, contacts, location or audio.
- How: the app sends it over an encrypted connection to our backend (Supabase), which forwards it to Anthropic and returns the answer.
- Why: only to give you the AI feature you asked for (coach replies, tidying your thoughts, choosing your ONE), and to count requests per installation for fair-use limits and abuse prevention.
- Who receives it: Anthropic, PBC (the provider of the Claude AI models) as our service provider, and Supabase (hosting). They may use the data only to provide their service to us. Anthropic's commercial API terms state that API data is not used to train its models by default. We rely on these providers giving the same or equal protection as this policy.
Do not put sensitive information in your thoughts or questions (for example health records, government IDs, passwords, or financial account numbers). The AI features work without it.
5. Voice and microphone
If you tap Add by voice, the app asks for permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. Speech is converted to text by the speech recognition service built into iOS, which is provided by Apple and, depending on your device settings and language, may process audio on Apple's servers under Apple's Privacy Policy. ONE does not record, save, or receive your audio; it only receives the resulting text. You can deny or withdraw the permission at any time in your phone's Settings and type instead.
6. Notifications
Reminders (Daily ONE, Check-in, Rescue) and the "focus complete" alert are local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not collect push tokens and do not send remote notifications. You can change them in the app or in your phone's Settings.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
ONE Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through the Apple App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your card or billing details. To manage entitlements we use RevenueCat, which receives your purchase receipt and an anonymous app user ID to confirm whether you have an active subscription. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
8. How we use information
- To provide the features you ask for (AI coaching, organizing and choosing your ONE, reminders, Pro access).
- To keep the service secure, apply usage limits, and prevent abuse.
- To comply with the law.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Brazil, our legal bases are performing our contract with you (providing the app), our legitimate interest in security and abuse prevention, and your consent where required (for example, microphone and notification permissions).
9. Who we share information with
Only with the service providers needed to run the app: Supabase (backend hosting), Anthropic (AI processing), Apple (speech recognition, App Store, payments), and RevenueCat (subscription status). They may only use the information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
10. International transfers
Our backend is in Brazil and Anthropic and RevenueCat process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it. Daily AI usage counters are kept for a limited time for abuse prevention and then deleted or aggregated. We do not keep the content of your AI requests.
12. Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: use Settings → Clear all data or delete the app.
- Reset the anonymous identifier: reinstalling the app creates a new one.
- Permissions: turn off microphone, speech recognition, and notifications in your phone's Settings.
- Subscription: cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings (see our Terms of Use).
- Privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we cannot identify you from the anonymous identifier, email us at rodsappz@gmail.com and we will help as far as we reasonably can. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Children
ONE is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Security
We use encrypted connections, keep our AI provider key on the server only (never in the app), and limit what we store. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
